Mission & History
The Center for Working Families, a nonprofit think- and do- tank, works with community-based organizations and policy advocates to develop ambitious policy reform agendas and effective strategies to implement them. In only a few years, we have built significant momentum for new state paid family leave, public campaign finance and tax fairness policies. We also created the policy blueprint for Green Jobs/Green NY, an unprecedented statewide energy efficiency retrofitting program.
The Center benefits from our close working relationships with organizations with strong and diverse constituencies and is uniquely positioned to connect good ideas with residents and policy makers.
